About White Mill Farm Shop

Visit The White Mill Farm Shop, Sandwich for quality home grown, Farm Fresh Fruit & Vegetables, Shrubs, Composts & Terracotta Pots

Background

The business originally grew mainly veg and potatoes supplying local wholesalers, independent shops and stalls in Spitalfields Market, London. These outlets soon dwindled as supermarkets began to take even more of the market share.
Farming brothers Gary, Stephen and Vernon opened their first farm shop in January 1997. Their main aim was to offer fresh, quality produce grown on our nearby farm, at competitive prices.
The Farm Shop began to get a good reputation and grew from strength to strength which enabled the family to invest back into the farming business. First a 3 million gallon reservoir to irrigate all the crops, then a grain store followed by strawberry tunnels and a 900 ton controlled temperature potato store.

Product Description

Today the farm runs to 300 acres of owned and rented land. Cropping is 150 acres of cereals, 90 acres of veg and 60 acres of potatoes.

The farm supplies the shop with an array of fruit and veg. including :-
Cauliflower/Cabbage, Calabrese, Sprouts, Strawberries, Asparagus, Sweetcorn, Runner beans, Winter squash and Pumpkins, Beetroot, Kale/Cavolo nero and Potatoes.
